Artists may paint anywhere throughout the District for the duration of the festival and submit their work for judging on Sunday in the different categories.
Please ask permission to paint on any private property.
Canvases can be stamped at the registration table throughout the entirety of the festival (two at a time).
In order to be considered for judging on Sunday, all works must be completed during the festival
All submitted works must be framed or gallery wrapped and using wire for hanging.
Festival boundaries are Bell on the north, Compton on the east, Olive/Lindell on the south, Vandeventer on the west
Each artist is responsible for transporting their artwork and display materials.
In the traditional spirit of “Plein Air,” all submitted works must be completed 100% outside within the boundaries. No paintings from photographs or entries that are digitally or otherwise manipulated and enhanced shall be considered.
All artists must complete a W9 and sign an artist waiver at check-in to be able to display and sell paintings.
All sales of art in any media must be processed through Grand Center Inc. This includes any sales in the tent on Sunday, to patrons requesting work off an easel, online sales and gallery sales.
Grand Center Inc. will retain a 25% commission of the sale price (plus applicable sales tax)
The remaining 75% of artist commissions will be mailed to each artist within 45 days of the closing day of the event. 1099’s will be mailed the following January to any artist that sells more than $600.
The deadline for submissions to the competition is Sunday morning at 9:00am.
After the judging and sale in the tent on Sunday, all works not sold in person will be available for sale online
